I am officially 38 weeks pregnant today! I can’t believe how fast time has gone by. For the past 8 months I have been working hard on designing and organizing this space for Alice. It’s such a beautiful and cozy room!
I wanted a nursery that was neutral to go with the rest of the house but with a pop of color. I opted for a dark blue statement wall with muted pink hues throughout the room to make it girly!
I found this rug from RugsUSA and added it to my registry. Thankfully it was one of the first things we received, so I was able to design the colors around it! I love the colorful bohemian feel it gives the room.
My desire is to follow a [somewhat] Montessori approach to raising our children.. Therefore, I limited the amount of plastic toys, opted out of getting a crib, and tried to find furniture that would foster her independence as she grows.
The bookshelves are low for her to be able to see and later pick out a book, while the shelf/ clothing rack will be perfect for her to reach things when she is mobile.
We were fortunate to already have a built-in vanity in this room. This is great for storing her clothes and will be used as her changing table.
Patrick and I are so thankful for all of our supportive friends and family who decided to shower us in gifts we don’t deserve. Alice will definitely love this cute little space and I can’t wait to spend time with her in here!
